SISTERS QUILT EXPO

QUILT AFTER QUILT HUNG FROM THE TOWNS BUILDINGS.

This is a bit off topic for me, but it is worth talking about. We have a quilt show in the small, sweet town of Sisters, Oregon that I live in. It’s not just any quilt show it is the world’s largest quilt Expo. I must admit it was very impressive, there were more than 1400 quilts this year.

We are new in town and the show was cancelled last year due to that crazy pandemic. And never having been to a quilt expo I felt compelled to attend with my 12-year-old daughter despite the heat and the warning of the crowds.

It is only one day a year and is a massive undertaking for this small community of under 2000 people and it is put on by many volunteers.

This year was the 46th year and our little town filled right up.

EVEN A COOL FLAG ONE AT THE SNO CAP DINER.

They hang them all over the buildings on the main street and the side roads as well.

Many of the locals say they stay away that weekend because of the turnout. I saw people from all over the country.

I had no idea what a beautiful art form quilting was.

I am so happy that I braved the heat and the crowds.
